Artist Bio:
Beastie Boys were an American hip hop group formed in 1981 in New York City. The group was composed of Michael "Mike D" Diamond, Adam "MCA" Yauch, and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz. They were known for their eclectic style blending elements of hip hop, punk rock, and funk, and their witty, often humorous lyrics. Beastie Boys gained popularity in the 1980s with their debut album "Licensed to Ill," which was the first rap album to top the Billboard 200 chart.

Throughout their career, Beastie Boys released several critically acclaimed albums, including "Paul's Boutique," "Check Your Head," and "Ill Communication." They were also known for their socially conscious lyrics and activism, including their support for Tibetan independence and various environmental causes. In 2012, the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Tragically, Adam Yauch passed away in 2012, leading to the disbandment of the group. Beastie Boys left a lasting impact on the music industry and are regarded as one of the most influential hip hop groups of all time.
