Beastie Boys gained popularity in the 1980s with their debut album "Licensed to Ill," which became the first rap album to top the Billboard 200 chart.
Throughout their career, Beastie Boys released several critically acclaimed albums, including "Paul's Boutique," "Check Your Head," and "Ill Communication." They also won multiple Grammy Awards for their music, including Best Alternative Music Performance and Best Rap Performance. In addition to their music, Beastie Boys are known for their activism and support of various social and political causes. Tragically, Adam Yauch passed away in 2012 after a battle with cancer, leading to the group disbanding.
