The Beau Brummels achieved commercial success with their debut single "Laugh, Laugh" in 1965, which reached the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. They followed up with hits like "Just a Little" and "You Tell Me Why." The band was known for their folk-rock sound, which blended elements of British Invasion rock with American folk music.
