Belinda Carlisle is an American singer, musician, and author, born on August 17, 1958, in Hollywood, California. She gained fame as the lead vocalist of the all-female band The Go-Go's, known for hits like "We Got the Beat" and "Our Lips Are Sealed." After the band's breakup in the mid-1980s, Carlisle embarked on a successful solo career, releasing albums that included popular songs such as "Heaven is a Place on Earth" and "Circle in the Sand."


Carlisle's music style is often described as pop rock and new wave, and she has received critical acclaim for her distinctive voice and catchy melodies. Over the course of her career, she has sold millions of records worldwide and earned several awards, including a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
