Bell Biv DeVoe is an American R&B group formed in 1989. The group consists of three members: Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ronnie DeVoe. They are best known for their debut album "Poison," which was released in 1990 and achieved commercial success, reaching number 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album's title track, "Poison," became a major hit and is considered one of the group's signature songs.


Bell Biv DeVoe was formed by the three members of the popular R&B group New Edition. After the success of "Poison," the group went on to release several more albums, including "Hootie Mack" and "BBD." Bell Biv DeVoe is credited with helping to popularize the "new jack swing" genre of music in the early 1990s. They continue to perform and release music, with their most recent album, "Three Stripes," being released in 2017.
