King rose to fame as the lead singer for the Drifters, with hits like "There Goes My Baby" and "Save the Last Dance for Me". In 1960, he embarked on a solo career and achieved significant success with his signature song "Stand by Me", which has become a timeless classic and one of the greatest love songs of all time.


Throughout his career, Ben E. King was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Drifters and also as a solo artist.
