Ben E. King was an American soul and R&B singer who was born on September 28, 1938, in Henderson, North Carolina. He is best known for his hit songs such as "Stand by Me" and "Spanish Harlem," which have become iconic classics in the music industry. King started his music career as a member of the Drifters, where he sang lead on a number of their hits including "Save the Last Dance for Me" and "This Magic Moment."


In 1960, Ben E. King left the Drifters to pursue a solo career, where he achieved even greater success. His song "Stand by Me" was released in 1961 and became a massive hit, reaching the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Throughout his career, King continued to release music and perform, leaving a lasting impact on the world of soul and R&B music. Ben E. King passed away on April 30, 2015, but his music continues to be beloved by fans around the world.
