Artist Bio:
Ben E. King was an American soul and R&B singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was born on September 28, 1938, in Henderson, North Carolina, and passed away on April 30, 2015, in Hackensack, New Jersey. King was best known for his smooth baritone voice and his timeless hits, including "Stand by Me" and "Spanish Harlem."


As a member of the Drifters, King co-wrote and sang lead on several of the group's songs in the late 1950s and early 1960s. He later embarked on a successful solo career, achieving further commercial success with songs like "Don't Play That Song (You Lied)" and "Save the Last Dance for Me." King's music has had a lasting impact on the music industry, and he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Drifters in 1988.
