Benny Bell was an American singer, songwriter, and producer known for his comedic and risqué songs. He was born in 1906 in New York City and began his music career in the 1920s. Bell gained popularity in the 1940s and 1950s for his novelty songs that often featured humorous and sometimes controversial lyrics. His most famous song, "Shaving Cream," was released in 1946 and became a surprise hit, reaching number 30 on the Billboard charts.


Throughout his career, Benny Bell released numerous albums and singles, many of which were considered bawdy or suggestive for their time. Despite facing censorship and backlash for his provocative content, Bell continued to record and perform his unique style of music. He passed away in 1999 at the age of 93, leaving behind a legacy as a pioneer of comedic and novelty music in the mid-20th century.
