Artist Bio:
Bert Sommer was an American singer-songwriter and actor, born on February 7, 1949, in New York City. He gained fame in the late 1960s and early 1970s for his folk and rock music. Sommer released his self-titled debut album in 1970, which received critical acclaim for its introspective lyrics and melodic folk-rock sound. He was also known for his powerful and soulful voice, which drew comparisons to artists like Bob Dylan and James Taylor.

In 1969, Bert Sommer performed at the iconic Woodstock Festival, where he delivered a memorable performance that helped boost his career. He continued to release music throughout the 1970s, although he never achieved mainstream commercial success. Sommer also appeared in various stage productions, including the rock musical "Hair." Despite his talent and promising start in the music industry, Bert Sommer's career eventually faded, and he passed away on July 23, 1990, at the age of 41.
