Artist Bio:
Betty Everett was an American soul singer and pianist who was born on November 23, 1939, in Greenwood, Mississippi. She was best known for her hit single "The Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss)" which reached number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1964. Everett began singing gospel music in her church choir before transitioning to secular music and signing with Vee-Jay Records in the early 1960s.


In addition to "The Shoop Shoop Song," Betty Everett had other successful songs such as "Let It Be Me" and "There'll Come a Time." She continued to release music throughout the 1960s and 1970s, collaborating with artists like Jerry Butler. Everett's soulful voice and emotional delivery earned her a place in the hearts of many R&B music fans. She passed away on August 19, 2001, leaving behind a legacy of memorable music that continues to be celebrated by fans and music historians.
