Betty Harris is an American soul singer who rose to prominence in the 1960s. She was born on September 9, 1939, in Orlando, Florida. Harris started her music career by performing in local clubs before being discovered by musician and producer, Bert Berns, who signed her to his record label, Jubilee Records.


Harris is best known for her hit songs such as "Cry to Me" and "His Kiss," which helped establish her as a prominent figure in the soul music scene. Despite her talent and success, Harris chose to retire from the music industry in the early 1970s to focus on her family. However, her music continues to be celebrated and admired by fans of soul music to this day.
