Artist Bio:
The Big Bopper, whose real name was J.P. Richardson, was an American musician, songwriter, and disc jockey. He was born on October 24, 1930, in Sabine Pass, Texas. Big Bopper is best known for his hit song "Chantilly Lace," which was released in 1958 and became a classic rock and roll tune. He was also a popular radio DJ who hosted a show called "The Big Bopper's Record Shop" on KTRM in Beaumont, Texas.

Tragically, Big Bopper's life was cut short in a plane crash on February 3, 1959, along with fellow musicians Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens, in an event that became known as "The Day the Music Died." The loss of these three talented artists had a significant impact on the music industry and their fans, leaving a lasting legacy in the history of rock and roll.
