Artist Bio:
Big Country was a Scottish rock band formed in 1981 by Stuart Adamson and Bruce Watson. The band achieved commercial success in the 1980s with their distinctive sound that blended rock music with Scottish folk influences. Their debut album, "The Crossing," released in 1983, reached number 3 on the UK Albums Chart and featured the hit single "In a Big Country."
Big Country's music often featured Adamson's unique guitar playing, characterized by the use of the e-bow, which created a bagpipe-like sound. The band continued to release music throughout the 1980s and 1990s, with several chart-topping singles in the UK. Despite changes in the lineup and music industry trends, Big Country maintained a loyal fan base and continued to tour and record until Adamson's tragic death in 2001. The band's legacy lives on through their music, which continues to be celebrated by fans of alternative rock and Scottish music.
