Artist Bio:
Big Pig was an Australian funk and rock band that formed in 1985 and disbanded in 1991. The group's lineup consisted of lead vocalist Sherine Abeyratne, drummer Oleh Witer, guitarist Neil Baker, bassist Tony Antoniades, keyboardist Tim Rosewarne, and saxophonist/keyboardist Nick Disbray. Big Pig is best known for their hit single "Breakaway," which was released in 1988 and reached the top 10 in Australia, as well as charting in the United States and the United Kingdom. The band's music is characterized by its energetic blend of rock, funk, and dance elements, along with Abeyratne's powerful vocals and the group's use of unconventional instruments like horns and chains.

Despite their relatively short career, Big Pig gained a following for their high-energy live performances and unique sound. They released one studio album, titled "Bonk," in 1988, which received positive reviews from critics and further solidified the band's reputation for their eclectic and dynamic musical style. Big Pig's music continues to be remembered and celebrated by fans of 1980s rock and funk music.
