He has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1961 and has released over 40 studio albums in his career. Anderson has written songs for many country music artists, including top hits like "City Lights" for Ray Price and "Once a Day" for Connie Smith. He has also had a successful solo career, with hits such as "Still" and "Mama Sang a Song."
Anderson has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career, including induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame. He has also won multiple awards from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association.
