Bill Black's Combo achieved commercial success in the early 1960s with hits like "Smokie, Part 2" and "White Silver Sands." The band released several albums and singles throughout the 1960s, and they were known for their tight musicianship and catchy melodies. Despite the tragic death of Bill Black in 1965, the Combo continued to perform and record music until 1976.
