Artist Bio:
Bill Black's Combo was a popular instrumental group led by bassist Bill Black, who was also known for being a member of Elvis Presley's band. Formed in Memphis, Tennessee in the early 1960s, the group's music was a mix of rock and roll, R&B, and rockabilly. They achieved commercial success with their hit singles "Smokie, Part 2" and "White Silver Sands," both of which reached the top ten on the Billboard charts.

Bill Black's Combo released a series of albums on the Hi Records label, including "Solid and Raunchy" and "Movin'." The group's energetic and danceable sound made them a popular act in the early 1960s, and they continued to perform and record music until Bill Black's untimely death in 1965. Despite their relatively short career, Bill Black's Combo left a lasting impact on the music scene of the time, and their recordings continue to be enjoyed by fans of instrumental rock and roll.
