Bill Champlin is an American singer, songwriter, and musician, best known for his work as a member of the band Chicago from 1981 to 2009. He was born on May 21, 1947, in Oakland, California. Champlin's distinctive voice and songwriting skills contributed to many of Chicago's hits during his time with the band, including "Hard Habit to Break" and "Look Away."

In addition to his work with Chicago, Champlin has released several solo albums and has collaborated with a variety of artists in the music industry. He has also been a sought-after session musician, lending his vocal and keyboard talents to numerous recordings over the years.
