Billy Grammer was an American country music singer and accomplished guitar player. He was born on August 28, 1925, in Benton, Illinois, and passed away on August 10, 2011. Grammer began his musical career as a guitar player, performing with various artists before launching his solo singing career in the late 1950s. He is best known for his hit song "Gotta Travel On," which reached the top of the country music charts in 1959 and also crossed over to the pop charts.
In addition to his music career, Grammer was also known for designing and popularizing a unique guitar known as the "Grammer guitar," which was later manufactured by the Gretsch Company. Throughout his career, Billy Grammer recorded several albums and continued to perform live shows, showcasing his guitar skills and smooth country vocals to audiences around the world.
