Artist Bio:
Billy Grammer was an American country music singer and guitar player, born on August 28, 1925, in Benton, Illinois. He was best known for his 1959 hit single "Gotta Travel On," which reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Grammer was also known for his unique guitar playing style, using a thumb pick and playing with a flat pick simultaneously.


In addition to his successful music career, Grammer was a skilled guitar maker and designed a popular line of acoustic guitars known as the Grammer Guitar. He was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1962 and continued to perform and record music throughout his career. Billy Grammer passed away on August 10, 2011, leaving behind a legacy as a talented musician and performer in the country music industry.
