Billy Preston was an American musician known for his contributions to the music industry as a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He was born on September 2, 1946, in Houston, Texas, and passed away on June 6, 2006, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Preston was a child prodigy who began playing the piano at a young age and went on to collaborate with many iconic artists throughout his career.


One of his most notable collaborations was with The Beatles, with whom he worked on their Let It Be album and later became known as the "Fifth Beatle." Preston also had a successful solo career, with hits such as "Outa-Space" and "Will It Go Round in Circles." He was known for his soulful voice, electrifying stage presence, and masterful skills on the piano and organ, earning him the nickname "The King of Keyboard." Preston's impact on the music industry continues to be celebrated, and he was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
