Billy Preston, born on September 2, 1946, in Houston, Texas, was an American musician known for his skills as a keyboardist, singer, and songwriter. He began playing the piano at a very young age and by the age of ten, he was already performing on television shows and in nightclubs. Preston's career took off when he joined Little Richard's band in the early 1960s, and he went on to collaborate with artists such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Eric Clapton.
Preston's most famous solo hits include "Will It Go Round in Circles" and "Nothing from Nothing," both of which topped the charts in the 1970s. He also achieved success as a session musician, contributing his keyboard talents to numerous recordings by other artists. Preston's work was highly influential in the development of funk and soul music, and he was often referred to as the "fifth Beatle" due to his close association with the band. Preston passed away on June 6, 2006, leaving behind a legacy of groundbreaking music and unforgettable performances.
