Billy Squier is an American rock musician and singer-songwriter, born on May 12, 1950, in Wellesley, Massachusetts. He rose to fame in the early 1980s with a string of hits that blended hard rock with pop sensibilities. Squier's breakthrough album, "Don't Say No," was released in 1981 and featured the popular singles "The Stroke" and "In the Dark."


Throughout the 1980s, Squier continued to release successful albums, including "Emotions in Motion" and "Signs of Life." He was known for his energetic live performances and distinctive raspy vocals. Squier's music videos received heavy rotation on MTV, contributing to his commercial success. Despite a decline in mainstream popularity in the late 1980s, he has maintained a dedicated fan base and continues to perform and record music.
