Artist Bio:
Billy Stewart was an American rhythm and blues singer and pianist who gained popularity in the 1960s. He was born on March 24, 1937, in Washington, D.C. Stewart's unique vocal style combined elements of gospel, soul, and scat singing, and he was known for his improvisational skills and energetic stage presence. His biggest hit was the 1966 song "I Do Love You," which reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.


Stewart signed with Chess Records in the early 1960s and released several albums, including "I Do Love You" and "Sitting in the Park." Tragically, his promising career was cut short when he died in a car accident on January 17, 1970, at the age of 32. Despite his untimely death, Billy Stewart's music continues to be celebrated for its soulful vocals and timeless appeal.
