Artist Bio:
Billy Stewart was an American rhythm and blues singer and pianist, born on March 24, 1937, in Washington D.C. He gained fame in the 1960s for his unique vocal style and energetic performances. Stewart's biggest hit was a cover of the George Gershwin song "Summertime," which reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1966. His other notable songs include "I Do Love You" and "Sitting in the Park."


Tragically, Billy Stewart's promising career was cut short when he died in a car accident on January 17, 1970, at the age of 32. Despite his untimely death, his music continues to be celebrated and remembered for its soulful vocals and distinctive sound.
