Billy Stewart was an American rhythm and blues singer and pianist known for his unique vocal style and scat singing. He was born on March 24, 1937, in Washington D.C., and began his music career in the 1950s. Stewart signed with Chess Records in the early 1960s and released several successful singles, including "Summertime" and "I Do Love You." Tragically, Stewart's life and career were cut short when he died in a car accident on January 17, 1970, at the age of 32. Despite his early death, Billy Stewart's music continues to be celebrated for its soulful and energetic performances.
