Bing Crosby, born Harry Lillis Crosby Jr. on May 3, 1903, was an American singer, actor, and comedian. He was one of the best-selling recording artists of the 20th century, known for his smooth bass-baritone voice. Crosby's career spanned over five decades, during which he recorded numerous hit songs, including "White Christmas" and "Swinging on a Star." He is considered one of the first multi-media stars, achieving success in radio, film, and television.


Crosby starred in over 70 films and won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in "Going My Way" in 1944. He also appeared in the popular "Road to..." series of films with Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour. Crosby's influence on the music industry is undeniable, as he pioneered the use of the microphone in recording studios and popularized the concept album. He passed away on October 14, 1977, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of entertainment.
