Thomas achieved mainstream success with songs like "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head," which won an Academy Award for Best Original Song after being featured in the film "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid." He also had popular hits such as "Hooked on a Feeling" and "I Just Can't Help Believing."


Throughout his career, Thomas recorded various genres of music, including pop, country, and gospel. He won five Grammy Awards and sold over 70 million records worldwide.
