B.J. Thomas was an American singer best known for his hits in the 1960s and 1970s. He was born on August 7, 1942, in Hugo, Oklahoma, and raised in Houston, Texas. Thomas achieved mainstream success with his cover of the Hank Williams song "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" in 1966, which reached the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Thomas is perhaps best known for his Grammy-winning song "(Hey Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song," which topped the charts in 1975. He also had other notable hits like "Hooked on a Feeling" and "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head." Throughout his career, Thomas explored various genres including pop, country, and gospel music.
