The Blues Magoos were an American rock band formed in the Bronx, New York in 1964. They were known for their psychedelic rock sound and are considered pioneers of the genre. The band's most famous song is " (We Ain't Got) Nothin' Yet," which was released in 1966 and reached the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Blues Magoos were part of the "British Invasion" wave of bands in the 1960s and were known for their energetic live performances.
The original lineup of the Blues Magoos consisted of members Ralph Scala, Ronnie Gilbert, Emil "Peppy" Thielhelm, Geoff Daking, and Mike Esposito. The band released several albums in the 1960s, including "Psychedelic Lollipop" and "Electric Comic Book." While they did not achieve the same level of commercial success as some of their contemporaries, the Blues Magoos are remembered as an influential band in the development of psychedelic rock music.
