Blues Traveler is an American rock band formed in Princeton, New Jersey in 1987. The band's music is known for its bluesy rock sound, with elements of psychedelic, folk, and soul influences. The group consists of members John Popper (vocals, harmonica), Chan Kinchla (guitar), Tad Kinchla (bass), Ben Wilson (keyboards), and Brendan Hill (drums).
Blues Traveler gained mainstream success in the 1990s with hits such as "Run-Around" and "Hook" from their fourth album, "Four" (1994), which went multi-platinum. The band is also known for their improvisational live performances and Popper's virtuoso harmonica playing. Over the years, Blues Traveler has released a total of 13 studio albums, with their most recent being "Hurry Up & Hang Around" in 2018. The band has continued to tour extensively and remains a popular live act among fans of jam bands and blues-influenced rock music.
