Bo Donaldson and The Heywoods were an American pop music group formed in the early 1970s. The band's members included Bo Donaldson, Gary Coveyou, Rick Joswick, David Krock, and Mike Gibbons. They gained popularity with their hit single "Billy Don't Be a Hero" in 1974, which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was a crossover success, also topping the adult contemporary and country charts.
Following the success of "Billy Don't Be a Hero," Bo Donaldson and The Heywoods released other singles like "Who Do You Think You Are" and "Our Last Song Together," which also charted well. The group disbanded in the late 1970s, but their music continues to be remembered as part of the pop music landscape of the 1970s.
