Bob Dylan, born Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24, 1941, is an American singer-songwriter, author, and visual artist. He is considered one of the most influential figures in popular music and has been a major force in shaping the cultural landscape for over six decades. Dylan's career began in the early 1960s when he emerged as a leading figure in the folk music revival, known for his distinctive voice and poetic lyrics. He was a key figure in the civil rights movement and anti-war protests of the 1960s, and his songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changin'" became anthems for a generation.

 

Dylan has released numerous critically acclaimed albums, including "Highway 61 Revisited," "Blonde on Blonde," and "Blood on the Tracks." He has won multiple Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, and an Academy Award, and in 2016, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for "having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition."
