Artist Bio:
Bob Geldof is an Irish singer-songwriter, actor, and political activist born on October 5, 1951. He rose to fame as the lead singer of the Boomtown Rats, a punk rock band formed in Dublin in 1975. The band achieved international success with hits like "I Don't Like Mondays." In addition to his music career, Geldof is known for his humanitarian work, particularly his efforts to combat poverty in Africa.

Geldof organized the charity supergroup Band Aid in 1984 to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia. This led to the release of the hit single "Do They Know It's Christmas?" The success of Band Aid inspired the Live Aid concert in 1985, which raised millions for famine relief efforts. Geldof was later knighted for his charitable work and was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
