Artist Bio:
Bobbie Gentry was an American singer-songwriter born on July 27, 1944, in Chickasaw County, Mississippi. She rose to fame in the late 1960s with her hit song "Ode to Billie Joe," which topped the charts in the United States and earned her three Grammy nominations. Gentry was known for her unique blend of country, pop, and soul music, as well as her storytelling lyrics.

In addition to her musical success, Gentry was one of the first female artists to compose and produce her own material. She released several albums throughout the 1960s and 1970s, but gradually stepped away from the music industry in the late 1970s. Despite her relatively short career, Bobbie Gentry left a lasting impact on the music world and is remembered as a pioneering artist in the country and pop genres.
