Bobby Bland, born Robert Calvin Bland, was an American blues and soul singer. He was born on January 27, 1930, in Rosemark, Tennessee, and passed away on June 23, 2013, in Germantown, Tennessee. Bland was known for his smooth vocal style and powerful stage presence, earning him the nickname "The Lion of the Blues." He was a pioneer in blending blues, R&B, and soul music, creating a unique sound that resonated with audiences across the world.


Bland released numerous successful albums throughout his career, including "Two Steps from the Blues" and "Here's the Man." He also had several hit singles, such as "Turn on Your Love Light" and "Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City." Bland was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in recognition of his significant contributions to the music industry.
