Bobby Bland, born Robert Calvin Bland, was an American blues and R&B singer who was active from the 1950s until his passing in 2013. He was born on January 27, 1930, in Rosemark, Tennessee, and grew up in Memphis. Bland's musical style combined elements of blues, soul, and gospel, and he was known for his smooth, powerful voice and emotional delivery.


Bland had a successful career, releasing numerous hit songs such as "Turn on Your Love Light" and "Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City." He was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1981 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. Bland's contributions to the music industry have left a lasting impact, and he is remembered as one of the great voices of blues and soul music.
