Bobby Bland, born Robert Calvin Bland on January 27, 1930, was an American blues and R&B singer known for his soulful voice and smooth vocal style. He was a prominent figure in the blues and soul music scene during the 1950s and 1960s. Bland was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1981 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.


Throughout his career, Bobby Bland released numerous hit songs, including "Turn on Your Love Light," "I Pity the Fool," and "Stormy Monday Blues." He was also known for his collaborations with other musicians such as B.B. King. Bland's music was influential in shaping the sound of rhythm and blues and he is considered one of the great voices of the genre. Bobby Bland passed away on June 23, 2013, leaving behind a legacy of timeless music that continues to inspire and entertain audiences around the world.
