He was born on January 27, 1930, in Rosemark, Tennessee, and passed away on June 23, 2013, in Germantown, Tennessee. Bland was known for his smooth vocal style, sophisticated phrasing, and emotionally powerful delivery, earning him the nickname "Lion of the Blues."
Bland's music career spanned over six decades, during which he released numerous hit songs, including "Turn On Your Love Light," "Stormy Monday Blues," and "Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City."
