Bobby Bland, born Robert Calvin Bland, was an American rhythm and blues singer. He was born on January 27, 1930, in Rosemark, Tennessee, and passed away on June 23, 2013, in Germantown, Tennessee. Bland was known for his smooth, soulful voice and his ability to blend blues, gospel, and R&B styles in his music. He was also a talented songwriter, penning many of his own hits.


Bland's career spanned over six decades, during which he released numerous albums and singles. Some of his most well-known songs include "Turn on Your Love Light," "Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City," and "Stormy Monday Blues." Bland was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1981 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992, recognizing his significant contributions to the music industry.
