Bobby "Blue" Bland was an American singer-songwriter who was born on January 27, 1930, in Rosemark, Tennessee, and passed away on June 23, 2013, in Germantown, Tennessee. He was known for his unique blend of blues, soul, and R&B music, which earned him the nickname "Lion of the Blues."
Bland began his music career in the 1950s and released numerous hit songs, including "Farther Up the Road," "Turn on Your Love Light," and "Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City." He was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1981 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.
