Bobby Darin, born Walden Robert Cassotto on May 14, 1936, was an American singer, songwriter, and actor who rose to fame in the late 1950s and early 1960s. He was known for his versatile musical style, which ranged from pop and rock to folk and jazz. Darin's breakout hit was the song "Splish Splash" in 1958, followed by other popular tracks like "Dream Lover" and "Mack the Knife," which won him a Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 1960.
In addition to his successful music career, Darin also ventured into acting, appearing in several films and television shows. He was nominated for an Academy Award for his supporting role in the film "Captain Newman, M.D." Darin's life was tragically cut short when he died of heart failure at the age of 37 on December 20, 1973. Despite his premature passing, Bobby Darin left behind a lasting legacy as a talented entertainer and musician.
