Bobby Darin, born Walden Robert Cassotto on May 14, 1936, was an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He rose to fame in the late 1950s with hits like "Splish Splash" and "Dream Lover." Darin was known for his versatile musical style, which ranged from rock and roll to jazz and swing. He was also a talented songwriter, penning many of his own songs, including his biggest hit, "Mack the Knife."
In addition to his music career, Darin also found success as an actor, appearing in films like "Come September" and "Captain Newman, M.D." He was nominated for an Academy Award for his supporting role in the film "Captain Newman, M.D." Darin continued to perform and record music until his untimely death in 1973 at the age of 37. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
