Artist Bio:
Bobby Freeman was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer, born on June 13, 1940, in San Francisco, California. He was best known for his 1958 hit song "Do You Want to Dance," which reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has been covered by numerous artists, including The Beach Boys and The Ramones. Freeman was a pioneer of the early rock and roll and rhythm and blues music scene in the 1950s and 1960s.


In addition to "Do You Want to Dance," Bobby Freeman had other charting singles, including "C'mon and Swim" and "Betty Lou Got a New Pair of Shoes." He continued to perform and record music throughout his career, maintaining a loyal fan base. Bobby Freeman passed away on January 23, 2017, in Anson, Texas, at the age of 76.
