Bobby McClure was an American soul singer who rose to prominence in the 1960s. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 21, 1942, and began his music career as a member of various doo-wop groups before pursuing a solo career. McClure signed with the Stax record label in the mid-1960s and released several successful singles, including "Peak of Love" and "She's Alright."
McClure is best known for his collaborations with fellow Stax artist, Otis Redding. The duo recorded several duets together, including the hit songs "That's All Right" and "Good to Me." Despite his talent and success in the music industry, McClure's career was cut short by his untimely death on November 13, 1992, at the age of 50. His soulful voice and contributions to the soul music genre continue to be celebrated by fans and music historians alike.
