Bobby Russell was an American songwriter and singer who was born on April 19, 1940, in Nashville, Tennessee, and passed away on November 19, 1992. He is best known for writing several hit songs in the 1960s and 1970s, including "Honey," which was a number one hit for Bobby Goldsboro in 1968, and "Little Green Apples," which won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year in 1969.


In addition to songwriting, Bobby Russell also recorded his own music, releasing several albums throughout his career. He was married to singer and actress Vicki Lawrence, known for her role on "The Carol Burnett Show." Bobby Russell's contributions to the music industry have left a lasting impact, with his songs being covered by numerous artists and continuing to be enjoyed by listeners around the world.
