Bobby Rydell, born Robert Louis Ridarelli on April 26, 1942, is an American singer, actor, and performer who gained fame as a teen idol in the early 1960s. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and began his career as a drummer before transitioning to singing. Rydell's musical style encompassed rock and roll, traditional pop, and rhythm and blues, and he released numerous hit songs during his career.


Rydell's most well-known hits include "Wild One," "Volare," and "Swingin' School." He also appeared in several popular movies and television shows during the 1960s. Rydell's career continued into the 21st century with successful tours and performances. He has been inducted into the Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame and continues to be celebrated for his contributions to the music industry.
