Bobby Taylor & The Vancouvers were a Canadian soul band formed in Vancouver, British Columbia, in the early 1960s. The group was led by Bobby Taylor, a singer-songwriter who also served as the band's producer. They gained recognition for their energetic live performances and soulful sound, drawing inspiration from the Motown sound popular at the time. In 1968, the group signed with Motown Records and released their self-titled album, which included the hit single "Does Your Mama Know About Me." The song reached the top 30 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and became one of the band's most successful tracks.
Despite their initial success, Bobby Taylor & The Vancouvers disbanded in the early 1970s. Bobby Taylor went on to have a successful solo career before transitioning to a career in artist management.
