Bobby Taylor & The Vancouvers were a soul band formed in Vancouver, British Columbia, in the 1960s. The group was fronted by lead singer Bobby Taylor and included members such as Tommy Chong, Wes Henderson, and others. They gained recognition for their energetic live performances and soulful sound.
One of their biggest successes came when they discovered and mentored a young Jackson 5, helping them secure a record deal with Motown Records. Bobby Taylor & The Vancouvers also released their own music, with their most well-known song being "Does Your Mama Know About Me," which reached the top 30 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1968. Despite their brief time in the spotlight, the group made a lasting impact on the music industry, particularly through their role in launching the career of the legendary Jackson 5.
